Dots, Greater Good, "all you can eat wings," The Shape of Content, Strange Mercy, green soup with ginger, sweet potato muffins with candied ginger,

1. Dots and happy, funny faces.

2. "Greater Good," a show of my work at the Sarah Doyle Gallery at Brown University.

3. A recent conversation with a student of mine (boy, about 17 years old):
"Ms. K, do you know if today is all you can eat wings day at Hooters?"
"There are two reasons why I don't have an answer to your question: One, I am a feminist that doesn't hang out in or support places where a restaurant would objectify women and two, I am a vegetarian." (It may seem like I was be condescending but really there was humor in letting him know this about me.) This led to a deeper conversation that I was glad to have in the hopeful enlightening of a young person. He was cool, receptive. It also made me laugh later on thinking about it.

4. The Shape of Content by Ben Shahn- a long time favorite source of inspiration.

5. Strange Mercy by St. Vincent. Ridiculous awesomeness.

6. This delicious and beautiful soup that we made the other day: Green Soup with Ginger.

7. And for Sunday morning tomorrow we will have sweet potato muffins with candied ginger (a favorite from Deborah Madison's Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone) to go with the NYTimes and hot coffee. And also because we have a huge pile of sweet potatoes from our CSA farm.
