Found 'H', Obey peace, 1974 Westfalia, Nasir's car, zip ties, yarn bombed tree, Iris Cafe

1. A delicious, long breakfast at Iris Cafe on a rainy, rainy Sunday morning. Avocado toast with two soft boiled eggs, coffee.

2. Yarn bombed tree.

3. Pole with colorful zip ties. There were a few of these on the island.

4. Our favorite (and everyone else's) from the show, Nasir Shaikh's 1960 decorated bug from Ontario, Canada. The vinyl cut work is a nod to his Pakistani heritage. We talked with Nasir for a bit- his car, along with its beauty, has such incredible stories.

5. 1974 Westfalia. We visited the VW Traffic Jam on Governors Island last weekend. Such fun!

6. Obey peace on the street.

7. Found 'H' on the street, NYC.

Cantaloupe, the people you meet on an adventure, macaroon friendship, an accidental photograph, on the grid, 15 drawings.

1. I have been making a drawing a day over the summer. Here are 15 that I was rearranged on my studio floor to see how they converse with each other.

2. I have been painting on giclee prints of photographs that I take of grids.

3. The accidental photograph. I have taken over our yellow dining room as another spot to make drawings.

4. Orange morning bun (from 40 Green Street Lunch), coffee for a perfect Sunday morning.

5. A most spectacular package arrived in the mail from a dear friend in Providence, RI. Inside the "Hide-a- Way" container were coconut macaroons. And the words in the note there just gave me tears of joy that I have the kind of friends that I do- true, generous, funny, grateful, creative.

6. Last Saturday, I went on an adventure with my good pal, Sean, to the Geoffrey Young Gallery in Great Barrington, MA. There we had great conversations with the delightful man himself, Geoff, along with another visitor, Cynthia Atwood, an artist. Cynthia's series "Bloom: A listening project 2010" are portraits of ears of those who have lent them to her are sweet and lovely and full of gratitude.

7. Fresh, delicious, juicy cantaloupe from our farm share.

Martha, my table, a bookish painting, blue and pink, column, hoot, umbrella jellyfish

1. Umbrella jellyfish hovering around at the Wooly Fair, Providence, RI.

2. Near the Steel Yard, Providence.

3. A column on the campus of Brown University where we visited a few days ago.

4. A lovely blue bicycle with pink reflector. Nice sight.

5. We stumbled upon this bright, bookish painting by Brooke Hair in the campus center at Brown University.

6. At my work studio table.

7. “There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is on a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.” Martha Graham
